The IP PBX market in China is entering a fast-growth phase, reports In-Stat. IP server-based PBX revenue in the Chinese market will grow from $164.1 million in 2006 to $479.5 million in 2010, the high-tech market research firm says.
“Business users in China are seeing VoIP as a basic function in IP PBX products,” says Kevin Li, In-Stat analyst. “Several solutions designed to cope with various risk scenarios are gradually alleviating potential customers’ concerns of reliability and security for carrying voice over an open and standard data network.”
Recent research by In-Stat found the following:
* The development of IP PBX in small/mid-sized businesses (SMB) still lags behind large enterprises.
* Traditional PBX revenue in China will decline by a 31.8% CAGR through 2010.
* The traditional data network and voice network channels may not be suitable for IP voice services; consequently, vendors will have to train channel partners to meet their requirements.
